Fill this form to have the opportunity to join the New Generations platform: submissions will be reviewed on a daily-basis, and the most innovative practices will have the chance to be part of the media's coverage and participate in our cultural agenda, including events, research projects, workshops, exhibitions and publications.
New Generations is a European platform that investigates the changes in the architectural profession ever since the economic crisis of 2008. We analyse the most innovative emerging practices at the European level, providing a new space for the exchange of knowledge and confrontation, theory, and production.
Since 2013, we have involved more than 3.000 practices from more than 50 countries in our cultural agenda, such as festivals, exhibitions, open calls, video-interviews, workshops, and experimental formats. We aim to offer a unique space where emerging architects could meet, exchange ideas, get inspired, and collaborate.

Casa 0 is the unforeseen result of working with the "chantrea" typology.
In the 1950s, the town of Lodosa experienced growth with the construction of a new neighbourhood, whose buildings obeyed the "chantrea" typology, ground floor dwellings with a backyard, simple construction and characteristic profile.
The façade of the house remains unchanged; it retains its existing layout.
The exterior openings are crafted with aluminum joinery, maintaining the position and shape of the existing typology.
The rear façade is similarly untouched, dictated by regulations concerning the required distance for the rear courtyard.
The ridge line remains unaltered, defining the apex of the house. Large openings provide access to this courtyard, spanning the width of the space they occupy.
The backyard is designed as a paved area where the prevalence of white, common in the region, enhances the brightness and spaciousness of the space.
This white surface reflects the chromatic changes of the sky, altering its atmosphere dynamically throughout the day.
The rear space exhibits strong symmetry influenced by the interior layout of the house.
Inside the house, service areas are positioned along the lines that define the façades, dividing the space into four equal sections.
The living room and kitchen are combined into a double-height space, serving as the central axis of the house. Flush doors in the main areas extend to the full height, opening onto thresholds that transition into the service rooms.
With its substantial and unchanging forms, Casa 0 reinterprets the aspirations that originally shaped the neighborhood during a paradigm shift.
The exterior is adorned with Arabic tiles, as mandated by regulations, while its outer walls are constructed of reinforced concrete, preserving the original façade over time.
This design choice creates a distinct contrast with the rear façade of the courtyard, which is connected through the main living space of the dwelling.
The façade features two large lateral openings connected to the living room and the main bedroom, alongside a central opening that illuminates the bathroom, emphasizing the robust character of the concrete façade.
Supported by a contemporary vision, permanence is placed, in its various dimensions, at the heart of the proposal.
