An exterior view of the newly added volume shows its integration with the original building. At the core of the design is a semicircular communication module strategically positioned at the centre of the configuration. This module, placed tangent to the adjacent building, creates a dynamic tension between the two structures.

Each side of this unit is designed to engage with the adjacent courtyards. On one side, an access point has been created to establish a direct connection to the staircase.

Upon entering the described volume, visitors encounter a staircase illuminated from above by a skylight. The semicircular design creates an intriguing journey, emphasising a sense of surprise. As one ascends, glimpses of the upper floor begin to reveal themselves, heightening anticipation.

Upon reaching the upper floor, the arrival area is designed as a welcoming space that completes the semicircle. Its contour is defined by a wooden bench, adding warmth and functionality to the design.

From the welcome area, users transition into a spacious corridor that serves as the backbone of the design, providing access to each room. This entire passage is clad in wooden panelling, adding a sense of warmth and prominence while accentuating the entrances to the various spaces.

Wood plays a central role in the design of this building, not only adding warmth to the environment but also drawing inspiration from the traditional construction techniques of the surrounding village.

The warmth of the wooden vertical surfaces and the vibrant red linoleum on select floors create a striking contrast against the neutral tones elsewhere. White dominates most of the spaces, drawing attention to the distinctive vaulted ceiling.

This room serves as the nerve centre of the building, strategically positioned at the heart of the floor in a prime location. Its expansive windows provide an unparalleled view of the square outside.
