Fill this form to have the opportunity to join the New Generations platform: submissions will be reviewed on a daily-basis, and the most innovative practices will have the chance to be part of the media's coverage and participate in our cultural agenda, including events, research projects, workshops, exhibitions and publications.
New Generations is a European platform that investigates the changes in the architectural profession ever since the economic crisis of 2008. We analyse the most innovative emerging practices at the European level, providing a new space for the exchange of knowledge and confrontation, theory, and production.
Since 2013, we have involved more than 300 practices from more than 20 European countries in our cultural agenda, such as festivals, exhibitions, open calls, video-interviews, workshops, and experimental formats. We aim to offer a unique space where emerging architects could meet, exchange ideas, get inspired, and collaborate.

“New Urban Challenges” is the three-year edition (2020 – 2021 – 2022) of the New Generations festival that takes place in Rome, Italy. Curated by Gianpiero Venturini, these three editions of the festival aim to explore the relation between the urban environment and six intertwined themes, two every year. The project has been awarded by the public tender “Estate Romana 2020 – 2021 – 2022” and is part of Romarama, a cultural programme promoted by Roma Capitale.
In December 2020, the 8th edition of the New Generations Festival took place for the first time online, streamed live from the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. As the first edition of the three year festival “New Urban Challenges” (2020 – 2021 – 2022), all the activities took place via online platforms in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival saw the participation of a selection of around 25 international guests, who were involved in a series of activities organised around two main topics: (City and) People & (City and) Responsibility within the six themes of “New Urban Challenges”.
The festival experimented in the virtual space through the use of various online platforms to allow a dynamic interaction between the invited guests and the New Generations public.
